According to Eurosport France, Leicester City ace Riyad Mahrez has decided to join Barclays Premier League rivals Arsenal, with the move set to be concluded in the next few days.
The publication reports that talks are at an advanced stage, despite Foxes head coach Claudio Ranieri stating that the Algerian international will be remaining at the King Power Stadium.
“It is over, the market is closed here. Mahrez wants to stay,” Ranieri told the press earlier this week.
Mahrez, though, is reportedly still keen on leaving the league champions with the Gunners set to make an offer of around €50m to Leicester.
It is reported that Arsene Wenger met the 25-year-old’s agent following the club’s 1-1 pre-season draw in Lens on Friday.
The PFA Player of the Year enjoyed an outstanding breakthrough season with Leicester City during the previous campaign, scoring 17 goals – assisting a further 11 – as the Foxes secured an historic first top flight title.
